I am a writer, both of science and of fiction.

I started as a geologist before turning to journalism and embarking on a career in science communication, first at the Natural History Museum, then Imperial College London, and now at the Degrees Initiative.

In recent years I have also returned to my love of creative writing and doing the whole 'writing a novel' thing. I'm currently represented by Lucy Morris at Curtis Brown, and hope you will be able to read my debut novel soon!

Other things I love include cold places (having lived in Iceland, Finland and Canada), folk singing, photography, crafting (badly), and my two cats, Copper and Peanut.
