I love science and writing and do my best to combine the two.

I started as a scientist, studying geosciences to postgraduate level, before turning to journalism and another postgraduate degree.

Finally, I was set free into the world of adult work and started a career in science writing, first at the Natural History Museum in London and now at Imperial College London.

I'm also trying to connect science and writing from the other direction: I'm working on my first science fiction novel investigating the human legacy on Earth, and what we personally leave behind.

Other things I love include cold places (having lived in Iceland, Finland and Canada), photography, and my two cats, Copper and Peanut.

Writing my first novel: a science fiction about a future shaped by humans, despite their absence.

Science writing

My day job, and and great one at that. Comets, bacteria, quantum mechanics and everything in between.

This is just a hobby. But a fun and sometimes beautiful one. Mostly pictures of cold places.
