I love science and writing and do my best to combine the two.

I started as a scientist, studying geosciences to postgraduate level, before turning to journalism and another postgraduate degree.

Finally, I was set free into the world of adult work and started a career in science writing, first at the Natural History Museum in London and now at Imperial College London.

I'm also trying to connect science and writing from the other direction: I'm working on my first science fiction novel investigating the human legacy on Earth, and what we personally leave behind. I've recently branched out to other kinds of writing as well, and have started writing a murder mystery novel.

Other things I love include cold places (having lived in Iceland, Finland and Canada), photography, and my two cats, Copper and Peanut.

My day job, and and great one at that. Comets, bacteria, quantum mechanics and everything in between.

This is just a hobby. But a fun and sometimes beautiful one. Mostly pictures of cold places.
